The tenant journey

Here is a complete overview of what renting through Shelta Asset looks like, from start to finish:
1

Complete KYC verification

Submit your Know Your Customer (KYC) form from Dashboard → KYC. This is required before you can book a property inspection, submit an application, or make any payment. Review takes 2–3 business days.Learn how KYC works →
2

Browse the rental marketplace

Once your KYC is approved, go to Dashboard → Rental to view all available properties. Each listing shows photos, location, room count, size, and monthly rent.
3

Book a property inspection

On any listing you are interested in, click Book Inspection and select your preferred date and time. The Shelta team will confirm your appointment within 24 hours.
4

Submit a tenancy application

After your inspection, submit a formal application for the property. You can include a preferred move-in date and a message to the Shelta team. The team will be in touch within 2–3 business days.
5

Sign your lease agreement

If your application is approved, you will receive a lease agreement to review and sign digitally from your dashboard. You will verify the signing with a one-time password (OTP) sent to your email.
6

Make your first payment

After signing, you will be prompted to pay the security deposit (if applicable) or the first month’s rent and service charge. Payment is processed securely via Paystack.
7

Move in

Once payment is confirmed, your tenancy becomes active. Complete the move-in checklist from your dashboard to officially confirm you have taken possession of the property.
8

Manage your tenancy

Pay monthly rent, raise maintenance requests, access documents, and request a lease renewal — all from your tenant dashboard.
KYC approval is required before you can take any action beyond browsing. Start your KYC as early as possible so there is no delay when you find a property you want.
