The rental marketplace is where you discover available properties managed by Shelta Asset. Every listing has been vetted and is available for immediate application. You can browse listings at any time once you have a Shelta Asset account, and book a physical inspection before committing to apply.

What you will see in the marketplace

When you open the Rental section of your dashboard and you do not yet have an active tenancy, the marketplace loads automatically. Each listing card shows:
  • Property name and unique asset code
  • Street address, LGA, and state
  • Property type (e.g. flat, duplex, detached house)
  • Number of rooms and size in square feet
  • Expected monthly rent in Naira
The marketplace is only visible when you do not have a current or pending tenancy. Once your tenancy is active, your dashboard shows your home details instead of listings.

Viewing a property’s full details

Click any listing card to open the property detail page. This shows everything you need to assess the property before booking an inspection or applying.

A written description of the property, including layout, features, and any relevant notes from the Shelta team.

Amenities

A structured list of available amenities such as parking, generator, security, and more.

Size and rooms

Total floor area in square feet and the number of bedrooms or units.

Financial details

Monthly rent and the applicable service charge rate, so you can assess affordability before applying.

Property classification

Every property carries a class label based on its annual rent value:
ClassAnnual rent
Class A₦10,000,000 and above per year
Class B₦5,000,000 – ₦9,999,999 per year
Class CBelow ₦5,000,000 per year
Your KYC income bracket determines which property classes you are eligible to apply for. The platform checks affordability automatically when you submit an application.

Booking a property inspection

A physical inspection lets you visit the property before you apply. Inspections are coordinated by the Shelta team and confirmed within 24 hours of your booking.
You must have a KYC-approved account to book an inspection. If your KYC is still under review, you can browse listings but will not be able to book until approval is confirmed.
1

Open the property detail page

From the marketplace, click the listing you want to inspect. Review the overview, amenities, and financial details first.
2

Click 'Book Inspection'

Select the Book Inspection option on the property detail page.
3

Choose your preferred date and time

Enter your preferred date and preferred time for the visit. You can also provide an alternate date in case the first choice is unavailable.
4

Add any notes (optional)

Use the Notes field to share anything useful for the Shelta team — for example, specific areas of the property you want to focus on.
5

Submit your booking

Confirm the booking. You will see a confirmation message immediately, and the Shelta team will contact you within 24 hours to finalise the appointment.
You can only have one pending inspection booking per property at a time. If you want to change your preferred date, contact the Shelta team directly.

Tracking your inspections

You can view all your inspection bookings from the Inspections section of your tenant dashboard. Each entry shows:
  • The property name and asset code
  • Your preferred date and time
  • The current status of the booking (pending, confirmed, or completed)
Booking an inspection does not reserve the property or commit you to applying. You can inspect multiple properties and decide later which one to apply for.

After you inspect

Once you have visited a property and are ready to proceed, return to the listing page and submit an application. See Applying for a Rental for the full application process.
